Walpurgisnacht 2021

by Sean Jobst

30 April 2021

It has been awhile since I've last posted. First, due to several big events in my personal life which are definitely positive and keeping me enjoying this beautiful life. Second, the need to walk away from the news-cycle charade from time to time into my own reality rather than the false illusions that past for the "reality" they want to impose upon us and normalize. More of those writings will follow in the future, in the same vein as last year's postings and those in January.

Those of us who assert our sovereignty have come to know and appreciate those things that are more real than what passes for it. Its a parallel reality centered around all the actual priorities in life, those things which are truly eternal or more lasting than the fleeting political charades, ideologies and cultural trends or schemes. Our task is to observe but not obsess; have a certain detachment so that we can withdraw internally from time to time as The Hermit archetype. We then act in the world around us as "The Anarch" - a deeper subject I also intend to write about in the future.

I continue to journal and research my ultimate passions which are spiritual and philosophical. A couple of online encounters have reminded me of the need for putting more work out there on a Continental Germanic spiritual tradition (and specifically Swabian) which is largely lacking but requires more work to uncover. It exists and was never fully stamped out, but merely obscured. More broadly, the need for me to work within my own indigenous Germanic, Celtic and Iberian traditions - and how this ties into the ultimate parallel reality which is a return to tribes and devolution down to communities.

This is the need for everyone to truly know themselves and then manifest that self-knowledge into truly knowing others and our environment. In any case, I am contributing to the latest title put out by Black Front Press - a publishing house I have collaborated with so often in the past - entitled Evola: Thoughts & Perspectives, Volume Two. (See "Updated" below). The title of my contribution is "Evola: Initiation and Transcendence of the Pagan Anarch". A decade after I contributed to the first volume (2011) when my spiritual journey was far different and I tried to fit Evola within that framework rather than working within my own indigenous traditions.

Since then I have written another article on Evola when certain political forces on both Right and Left were publicly distorting his philosophy albeit for different purposes. This latest contribution is my assertion of the inherent Paganism of Evola's philosophy (and Tradition more broadly), and a development of a spiritual-metapolitical view I call the Pagan Anarch. For I am also an Anarchist who recognizes the ultimate reality against the Globalist State is in a return to the Tribes and Communities. I incorporate free-market forms of Anarchism (more specific to the American context) with National-Anarchism which recognizes the instinctive tribal nature of people (not merely in the genetic sense). Just as my Paganism is a homage to all three aspects of my heritage (Suebi/Alemanni, Belgae, and Celtiberians) so cannot be limited to only Germanic or Celtic, but with appreciation for Chaos Paganism as a reflection of my occult interests.

Some of my research for that contribution synchronizes with my series about the Wild Hunt (such as the Männerbunde), so stay tuned for more about that. Tonight is an auspicious time known in parts of Germany as Walpurgisnacht and leading up to the Celtic festival of Bealtaine. One of the articles I am proud about is one I wrote last year which I now re-link to in honor of this night:

"Walpurgisnacht - A Journey Across Time, Space, and Darkness"

It lays out my theories about this night - and I don't claim my opinions are the only valid theories - which is that despite the later elements added on to it, including the character of Walpurga (whom I regard as fictional - the key is in the name as I document in the article), this is remnant of an ancient Germanic and Celtic festival. I research the symbolism, allegories, folklore and motifs surrounding Walpurgisnacht - and how it can apply to our own physical and psychological growth. Meanwhile, here is my votive poem and invocation in honor of this night:

"Wodan, lord of wisdom. Honor my workings, and awaken my word-skills. Manifest my will and project my power around me so that I may be the master of my own Fate and control my destiny. I reclaim those controls that I had given to others so that I may live freely and honorably. In the process, I sacrifice to you any resentments and angers that may keep me bound to that control.

"Mutter Holle, you who traverse sky and underworld with your Wilde Jagd. Hallowed Huntress, may I discern the mysteries of this Wild Hunt and not be swept up with the ghosts of the wind whether within or without. As you ride forth this auspicious night, look kindly upon my workings.

"Perchta, wondrous seeress of the wheel. Spin for me good workings tonight and every night. As I descend into the darkness within, allow me to come forth to the light within so I may be reborn to myself. May I come to know myself more fully in the process and achieve future growth.

"Frau Holle, allow me to traverse all aspects of myself - within and without, darkness and light, higher and lower self - so I may break down the veils which keep me from my internal vision and my external potential. As I traverse this between-time, bless my endeavors. Favor me in my dreams and give me your wise counsel. As the flame is purified by smoke, so purify my mind and soul. And even if they rob us of our ancient traditions, who can take your light away from us?"

UPDATED, 3rd May 2021:

The name of the upcoming book is actually Protector of the Sacred Flame: Essays on the Life and Thought of Julius Evola. More information and details can be found on Black Front Press' public Facebook page. I recommend checking out their titles, which delve into various aspects of philosophy, culture, metapolitics, literature, metaphysics, and alternative political trends. This represents the eighth time I've contributed to a Black Front Press book, as I look forward to future writings.
